Wednesday the 1^st it’s a good day to start a new month. Venus is happy in Libra which at the very least is more cooperative than combative. Jupiter and Uranus are set for pleasant surprises. That aspect is good all month long….yea! Best of all, the collective clogged drain of Saturn stopping up the good stuff is over. Look at what you learned about patience and the price of personal pity parties in August. It was easy to envy anyone who seemed to have it easier. Weather envy was alive and well in many areas of the world. In Texas we are grateful for any day below 100 and rain was next to a miracle. There was probably something like that in your world. Let it go! Start this month by counting your blessings. If you have a little extra cash, share it or spend it but move the money around. If you have personal energy reserves: you are rich….smiles. If you are exhausted and frustrated: look at how you deal with stress and make some changes. Your immune system is your personal investment in the future. Tend to it.

Thursday the 2^nd Venus is moving slowly. Mars will catch her in a few days. It is a good time to notice how men and women treat each other. Look in your corner of the galaxy and take note. If you are in a relationship or hope to be, notice your attitudes about male and female roles. Are they both valuable and valued? Can you see what you bring to the table and what you expect? It’s a constant dance, but now, it’s just a little easier to see. Venus is hopeful and charming. Mars is on his way. This is a good time to notice the yin yang in you and in your world. So, who’s on top? …Smiles.

Friday the 3^rd The Sun joins Mercury. Communication could be a struggle. Speak carefully. Take extra care to look your best. It’s Venus’s day and she appears to be stopped in the heavens. She is the evening star, rising with the Moon and she is very bright. When a planet appears to stop and move backward, that planet is as close to the Earth as she will come this year. Are you brining love, beauty and charm into your life? If not…why not? Have you given up on social graces or simply on the physical form? This is a great day and early evening for a date. The ancients would propitiate Venus with sweets and sensual pleasures. We can join in with some form of indulgence. Embrace it: But make like Cinderella and leave the ball early. The Moon joins ketu for karmic connections late this evening. Keep it light or keep your distance.

Saturday the 4^th Speak your mind but mind how you speak it. The Sun and Mercury are very close together. Mercury appears to go backward in the heavens; communication could be more instinctive than intuitive. Imagine that the Sun is your own thoughts or plans. Mercury is a little unconscious because he’d rather be alone. Someone asks your opinion and it comes out before you realize that you are talking to your boss but you weren’t thinking about work. Translate this into any other situation: you were talking to someone but you were thinking about how intrusive she’s become…. You get the picture. This is a great day and evening to be alone. If you do go out, pick somewhere loud. Smiles

Sunday the 5^th Mars will finally leave Virgo today (Vedic system). When a planet is at the very end of a constellation it is stressed. So action, passion and the desire to do something useful is stressed. Before you presume that you’ve wasted your life or even the afternoon, know that you are not alone and that this would be a great day to rest. If you are out in a group, listen carefully but make sure you truly understand what was said. This placement of Mars might just jump to a conclusion or conflict. Before you make a major life decision….give it one more week to see how it looks a little further away.

Monday the 6^th Romance is real and the urge to merge is strong. Venus and Mars are both in a lunar mansion that is all about a fresh start. It’s called Chitra and holds the fixed star Sirius: A harvest star. What have you planted? If you have apologies to make, make them and move on. If you are ready to get out there, get moving. Are you willing to put your plan into action? This is a great day to get going. As Monday’s go, this is a productive one.

Tuesday the 7^th The Moon triggers Mercury and approaches the Sun. It’s a deep dark moon. Hard to see where you are going, but productive nonetheless. What is the little voice between your ears telling you? It’s a great day for simple sentences and short meetings. Employees will work doubly hard for a little time to be alone with their thoughts.

Wednesday the 8^th The New Moon comes this morning. Get up and get moving. It is a great day for meetings and presentations. Folks are much more interested in each other than they were yesterday. Mercury is still retrograde. Focus on the facts. Make your presentation address solutions. Trust me there are problems. How do you determine what they are? Ask: someone is waiting to tell you. The urge to get things going is strong. But take a few minutes to confirm the meeting and the place.

Thursday the 9^th The Moon pulls up to Saturn. It’s hard to keep a happy tune going. Saturn is obstacles: The Moon is perceptions. Take a deep breath and put one foot in front of the other. This is a great day if you want to keep things simple and literally build a strong foundation. Caution, someone will point out the flaws in the flow chart. Listen, they are telling you the truth and it may be the cornerstones to success. I know it won’t feel welcome today. But that passes soon. If you are hearing caution from someone who never sees growth, just let it go by. This aspect helps overly zealous folks see facts and figures.

Friday the 10^th It’s still hard to see the good stuff. But by 8pm CDT things are looking up. If you really want to accept that date, just keep it in mind: do the movie before dinner….smiles. Had a difficult week? Go to bed early and wake up ready to see the good stuff again.

Saturday the 11^th This is a tragic anniversary. Politicians step forward to take a stand at Ground “0.” It is also a sweet morning: Get up early and celebrate some of the little things in your life. If you awaken before dawn get up or simply rest and take stock of your gifts. The Moon crosses Mars then Venus as the Sun comes up. No better day to awaken stretch and notice the good stuff you take for granted. Gratitude and generosity are easier. Before the responsibilities and stressors take over, write yours down. Tell the person or people you love and enjoy your morning. This could be a great trend for the rest of the weekend and even your life. Don’t miss it! It’s a gift to you. This is a fine weekend for a date: any date blind or eyes wide open. Expect rallies all weekend.

Sunday the 12^th Memories are everywhere again today: A mix of appreciation and pain. This might be the beginning of a new relationship for you. Get out there. Folks are interested in life and love today, but with the wisdom of experience carefully packed with it. Not about dread but acknowledging what you desire and how you love. What you might give and how you receive. A powerful political weekend.

Monday the 13^th A busy and productive day. The planets are scattered around the heavens. Venus is very strong and still close to Mars. The power to push and the patience to allow are strong. Charm is too. Take care to know when you are being flattered and if you might be played. Not a warning, just awareness. Humor wins the day. No better day to have a meeting. Folks are interested in each other and in success.

Tuesday the 14^th Jupiter is still very close to Uranus. Jupiter appears to move backward until November. That indicates a look within. But With Jupiter only a degree from Uranus change is everywhere. Jupiter is an optimist. Today, the Moon is in a cautious lunar mansion. Look at the big picture rather than the mood du jour. Change is happening.

Wednesday the 15^th Keep the faith and optimism. The Moon is in another moody and fearful lunar mansion today. It’s easy to be swept away by fears for the future, finance and the structure or system of the nation…any nation. While there are plenty of reasons to be wary, this is a moody day not month. Politics and Nasty News aside, there are good things in your life. Take the time to acknowledge them. Change comes from within. Honest, the good stuff is out there….it’s just hard to see it. If you had a particularly difficult summer, it might be hard to believe that the burden is moving away. It is, only today it seems to reappear in your fears. Breathe deeply and remember: The good stuff is out there…smiles

Thursday the 16^th You might need to push yourself or prod others, but once the day gets going….read that afternoon in most places…you can get a lot done. Don’t hesitate to push yourself if need be. What’s the problem? The usual human obstacles: fear of consequences rather than successful results. Step back and look at your part again. Are you doing your job or dreading it? You are not alone if the answer is both! Humor helps. If you want to get whatever your “it” is done…get it started. The astrology: The Moon leaves stressful aspects to Saturn, Pluto and Rahu behind. But the Moon is our perceptions: we don’t quite believe we can do it right.

Friday the 17^th Continue to put distance between your actions and your doubts. Notice: I didn’t say real practical concern but dread based doubts. Get your work done. The Moon leaves the eclipse path and we breathe a collective sigh of relief. You might hear it as Happy Hour or a little free time. Dress of potential attraction even though you were feeling distracted….grins. It’s a subtle way to honor Venus. This is Venus’ day of the week and she is strong. Remember: Venus rules love and money and sweets and jewels and beauty in general. Spread a little of Venus around. That sounds like the weekend drifting in.

Saturday the 18^th The Moon moves through the wise contemplative lunar mansion: Utar Ashada. It is a fine place to image the world from a variety of perspectives and faiths. It offers enough distance from emotion that we can find the reasonable and wise pieces in many perspectives. This is a fine day for a date: not better time to listen and learn.

Sunday the 19^th Listen deeply: listen to your body and to the pulse of your heart. Today, the Moon falls in a lunar mansion that is all about the capacity to listen. The Moon is separate from the other planets. It’s as if we gain a clearer perspective with a little distance. Look at your own life and thoughts. Do you gain wisdom when you are alone or with others? Can you see your past in the images in your mind? It sounds very philosophical…and it is! Venus and Jupiter remain strong. What insight can you gain into your beliefs and loves?

Monday the 20^th The Zen call to inner peace is strong this morning. We’d rather meditate on anything than get into the push of a work day. Here’s a challenge: How can you do your job well and not be caught up in the dramas and dissonance of the day? It’s possible, but you may need to chant your mantras for mental peace throughout a chorus of “Woe was my weekend….” Even 5 minutes of mental detachment is a victory; but 5 hours could change the way you experience mental freedom. At the very least, it will change what you believe is possible. (Mars loves a challenge! Let’s not forget that he is gaining speed on Venus)

Tuesday the 21^st The Sun faces Jupiter the indulgent optimist and Uranus the spontaneous trickster. Put these 3 together and we are just a bit more impulsive than usual. That’s not a bad thing as long as you take reasonable precautions and keep an eye on your budget. Next week, the Sun joins Saturn and the cosmic accountant comes to audit your accounts. This should be a great coming week for business…particularly things to make our lives a little nicer. Think cars and clothes and beauty in every form. The Saturn assessment won’t be an issue if you keep and eye on anything you are spending. What spends easiest flies out of your account fastest: Yes I do mean debit cards.

Wednesday the 22^nd The Autumnal Equinox at 10:09pm CDT. It’s time for checks and balances in the heavens. Equal day and night: equal darkness and light. We all want to put the emotional crude from the summer behind us. This is the first day of autumn. The urge to celebrate is strong. Plan your own party.

Thursday the 23^rd Talk about celebration! The Moon crosses Jupiter and Uranus this morning. Everyone wants to play. We all need some way to break free from drudgery and splurge. Keep and eye on your budget. Be realistic about that payment plan then go for it. If you really do need a new car or fresh look do it! Anything to announce to the future that you have not thrown in the towel and are indeed going forward is the order of the day and week and season. Summer is over change is in the air. This is a great day to fly…but know your wings, budget and terms before you leap.

Friday the 24^th More momentum and celebration yet to come! This is the end of the work week. Jupiter is strong; the Moon carries his optimism into everything. We aren’t foolish, but do appreciate the joy of a playful day. Venus is strong and she wants to look good. Mars is with her and the urge to merge is particularly strong this weekend. Combine optimism, the desire to look good and a makeover (on any budget) and you’ve got the momentum for today and this weekend. Plenty of folks get on dating sites and even more just get out in the world. A great day for meetings as long as they are social: You can make any meeting social if you are creative. It’s a great day to end the week and begin the weekend.

Saturday the 25^th Get a fresh start for anything or anyone. Even if you’ve been married for 50 years you can find something fresh to try to do or even watch. Bring that different flower or watch for the exotic butterfly on his way back to Central America. It’s good to get out. There is plenty of shopping still going on. There is a chill in the air and we are ready to dress the part. A budget isn’t the issue: creativity is. Plenty of folks will start a diet for the holidays…..later. This weekend it’s all about indulging in food, fabrics, friends, and yes something sensual for your skin.

Sunday the 26^th It is not a good day for a date or declaration of any sort. If you are scheduled for an emotional meeting, take it with a big gulp of caution. Delay it if possible. The Moon is in a moody lunar mansion: Bharani. Mars and Venus oppose the Moon in the heavens. Venus is about love, Mars is about action. Before you throw down the gauntlet for the last big fight….or before you indulge in anyone you will regret…take 24 hours to see if what you are feeling is real or rational or at least reasonable! Before you act or react take a few days just to be certain it is fact rather than fear. If you are certain and are looking for a day to throw in the towel, pack your bags or his…this is it. But do your due diligence first! This is a huge emotional investment.

Monday the 27^th If you must have a business call to arms, helps those who must work harder or longer know that they are on a team and are appreciated as well as needed. The Moon is in the Pleiades and we long for a seat at the table of sisters who knowingly sacrifice personal reputation for a cause greater than ego. It is great to be part of a team that needs you and honors you no matter what they say. You are only a fool if you compromise your values or Truth. This is a call for whistleblowers or at least those willing to stand up for Truth and honor. Yes this could mean political rallies and rebellion. But more than anything it’s about standing up for what and who you believe in and coming together as a team. This is a great day to work where this is a part of the dynamic each day. It’s wonderful to be part of a family who makes your part important. Groups, families, or employers that offer tasks or jobs to all who are willing to pitch in, are very successful and productive today.

Tuesday the 28^th The Sun is close to Saturn: Just two degrees apart. Everything is serious and it is important to take care of the details. The potential for success is great. The long-term investment for the day and for your 401K is on everyone’s thoughts. This is a great time to pull together. Anyone who takes personal advantage of the collective push to get the job done will ultimately end up on the sidelines. This is a great week and day for people to notice who is working with them and who is working for him or her self. Whew! It’s a delicate balance at home or on the job. If you can find a way to contribute to the team rather than fight for your own cause you will end up ahead of where you start this week. Yes, it is a fine line. If you can’t figure our where the team starts and your personal desires end, you will be shown before the end of the year. You might be closer to the edge than you were a week or two ago.

Wednesday the 29^th the President is in the news and on the tube. The Moon returns to the lunar mansion it was in when he was born. Love him or doubt him, he is a great example of political grace, determination and charm. It might not be the Presidency you hoped for, but for today he is a model of how to build a plan and succeed. Yes, even if you are working online or in a carpool or cheering your little dumpling from the sidelines of life. Everyone can find something to learn from his life. I dare you to try! (That was Mars daring you…not Venus….she is charmed by social success at every level.)

Thursday the 30^th It’s the end of the month. The Sun and Saturn are exactly conjoined. Politicians are everywhere and the fiscal balance sheet is in the news. Strange but true, there is some good news. Or shall I say the business balance sheet looks strangely better in several areas. I expect the Market to rise on some sort of plan or cautious hope. Perhaps the President is going to bring the powerful experts together or perhaps there is hope that things are coming together. The news of the fiscal audit may be in and at the very least, it’s not as bad as folks thought and there is talk of a team who might just bring us out of this. This is Jupiter’s day of the week (Thurs day is Thor’s day) and Jupiter remains strong as Saturn pulls away.

Central Themes:

Uranus is all about unexpected good news. It’s politically motivated something will be born from desperation, frustration and yes political revolution. Whew! Can’t wait to see what the next 5 weeks will bring. Jupiter is an optimist and Uranus is change. Simply put, there are some good changes unfolding.

Retrograde Mercury! Mercury moves approximately 360 degrees each year: Mercury is transportation, communication and commerce. Mercury retrograde is a time to turn within: Expect struggles with communication and timing. These are classic right-brain period where we struggles to get the facts right and long for quiet and solitude. Retrograde periods next 12 Months: Aug.20 to Sep.12; Dec.10 to Dec 30; Mar 30 to Apr 23 11; Aug.2 to 26 11.

Venus in Libra: Venus enters Libra where she loves to socializes, redecorate and generally mediate. She will appear to go retrograde In October so she’ll remain strong in Libra until Jan.1 2011. That’s a good long run, or perhaps a long run to make it good!....grins. This month, Venus is in the fruitful lunar mansions Chitra and Swati. Chitra holds the fixed star Spica, a bright star often symbolized by a shaft of wheat. She’ll enter Swati on the 10^th and linger there through October. Find your Libra house. What could you do to enhance your charm, redecorate that area of your life or simply work with a partner.

Mars Catches Venus as she slows down: Venus enters Libra on Sept. 1: Mars enters Libra on Sept. 5. Venus is stronger so she gets her way. But she is moving so slowly that the dance is measured and introspective and graceful. Mars crosses Venus on Oct. 3^rd. She appears to go retrograde on Oct 8^th. There is a window of grace for love as Venus remains stronger.

Here is a quick list of the house meanings. The Libra house in your Vedic chart is where the obvious Venus action is this fall. But like all the planets in Vedic astrology, she throws her charm into the house opposite the Libra house too. That would be your Aries house. Let’s go around the chart from house 1.

1. Your body and beginning of life; 2. Your money, words and what you consume; 3. Creativity and courage:  also health crises; 4. home, happiness, family mother; 5. children, speculation, luck and children; 6. chronic health matters: work environment; 7. partners, clients and obvious opponents; 8. life and death: insurance and inheritance; 9. your highest dharma or greatest gifts:  those who wish you well including doctors and professors; 10. Your career and public standing; 11. Groups of people (think your political party or friends) great financial gain; and 12. End of life, retirement, big institutions like big business, government and bed pleasures.

Pluto Stations Direct on the 14^th: Pluto appears to stop in the heavens and will slowly begin to move forward. Throughout September, it will appear to be stopped covering only 2 minutes of arc from 8 degrees Sagittarius 49 to 51. What does that mean? The good news: Finally Pluto is moving forward. Things are moving ahead. Unfortunately this time each year is shrouded by threats and even acts of aggression on the world stage. Hopefully the Venus placement can soften the aggression. But I suspect that the Venus and strong Jupiter placements will be used to “sell” a plan of action or reaction to the world. Keep your critical mind active. Look for the facts. I’m not just talking about political speak in this country but in the world. Does it really make sense that if one nation has a bomb they should all? Step out of the platitudes and into perspective. Use history and reason to guide your desire to be fair. If you’ve felt as if you’ve been in a pressure cooker and not just from the 100+ degree days in the South, you may be having a big Pluto transit. They can be easy to spot: You have a plan and it is stopped. You try to get it going….to have it your way and it fails. Often it looks crazy or unreasonable. You take the situation personally. Then you get an idea, a thought comes through that you would not have entertained before. It is strangely appealing. Ultimately there is nothing left to lose so you go with it. It’s like jumping into a river and allowing the current to carry you. Eventually you end up in a place you hadn’t planned but it is a much better fit for your talents and temperament than what you’d planned. A Pluto transit takes at least 18 months. But the results are life changing. Best advice: don’t fight the current but do keep you head above water and remember to breathe until the last second.

How the Love Grows: It grows with mutual compassion and respect. Venus is very strong and Mars stand with her to stimulate action along with cooperation. This is a great combination. Venus will be strong the rest of this year. No better time to get out there to develop friends as well as lovers.

Where the Money Flows: It flows a little: ebb and flow continue to be the theme. The Market remains cautious until November. That when Jupiter appears to stop and go forward. The Market is tentative. Venus and Jupiter are too strong for a big drop. Think of them as optimists. I know there are folks who are shorting the Market. I’m not a financial person but they may have strong Jupiter transits that indicate success. I suspect there will be more of the same in the Market: folks are looking for a place to invest but don’t trust it enough to dive in.

President Obama has very stressful transits until late October and early November. Neptune the planet of myth, mysticism and confusion sits on Ketu in his birth chart. This is his soul contract. He is where he is today as a result of his desire to success and his confidence that his advisers are right for him. I’ve said all year that I expect his cabinet to change at the beginning of 2011. Expect signs of it this month, but little certainty until after the November election. For now, The President is probably confused and frustrated with lack of economic growth. As Saturn pulls away from a stressful aspect to his Venus there are frustrations with money and yes, with love. But the transits are pulls away. Watch The President return in September with a spring in his step and ready to lead. He will be charming too! Venus lingers at the very top of his chart through the end of the year. It’s good to be compassionate, cooperative charming and charismatic all at once. Watch the President get his mo-jo back this fall. The race is on for November and it won’t stop until January.

The Pluto station in the Presidents chart is powerful. This is no surprise. The rest of this year and all of next year Pluto makes a yod or aspect of fate in his chart. It triggers his Mercury (transportation and communication); Venus (love and Money); ultimately his Moon (perceptions). The aspects are very tight now. The Presidency is about to evolve.
